Our research interests span both very short and very long duration changes in the Earth’s magnetic field.
We study the processes operating in the core of the Earth, that change over months to millennia. We create mathematical models of the magnetic field and predict how it will change for years ahead.
We also study processes that change on time scales of seconds to years, reflecting the influence of the Sun and of space weather. We investigate how space weather and geomagnetic storms affect technology, which society increasingly relies on.
